Adan A. Perales
Greetings and Salutations! Despite being somewhat new to the district, I am by no means a stranger to the profession of teaching. Having spent 7 years of teaching 8th history at Edcouch-Elsa ISD in the Rio Grande Valley, I now look to establish myself as a senior member of the Kennedy Rocket family.
Upon graduating from Edcouch-Elsa high school, I left the Rio Grande Valley for the cornfields of Grinnell, Iowa to attend a prestigious liberal arts college. In addition to receiving a quality education, Grinnell College offered me the opportunity to extend my athletic career another four years. I finished my athletic career having been part of a history-making football team. More importantly, I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in history.
I returned to the Rio Grande Valley in 2001. After briefly working towards my master's degree at UTPA, I began my teaching/coaching career. It would be a career move that I would never second-guess. After 7 memorable years, I decided to leave the comfort of home and venture off to the big city-life of San Antonio. Thankfully, Kennedy High School welcomed me with arms wide open.
As the 2020-2021 school year is set to begin, I am scheduled to teach AP© Human Geography and AP© World History. I have high expectations that this will be another successful campaign and look forward to making a positive impact at Kennedy High School! GO ROCKETS!
