Academic/Leadership Team

The Academic and Leadership Teams are cadets who compete in two academic disciplines. The Academic competition is focused around the SAT/ACT test with the Leadership focused on the life accomplishments of General George C. Marshall who was a Warrior Statesman. They study throughout the first semester and have their first competition on line. It is a great team to join because you are studding subjects that will help you in school. If your team advances through the first two phases you go to Washington D.C. for finals, come join.

PT Team

PT Team

The Physical Training Team is made up of cadets that want to challenge themselves, and are willing to push it to the max. The team has to be the best in Push-Ups, Curl-Ups and fastest at the Mile run. Each individuals score goes into determining the Teams score so you are only as good as the weakest person on the team. If you want a physical challenge this is the team for you. Although there is no shoulder cord for this team, members earn the PT ARC.

Orienteering

Orienteering

The Orienteering Team competes in one of the most physical events you could compete in as a cadet. In Orienteering you have to be able to read a map and navigate to a number of different points on the map, all in a set time limit. To be on this team you need to be able to think on your feet and have the stamina to push yourself and your teammates on to victory. Members of this team wear the green shoulder cord, and earn the Orienteering ARC.

Marksmanship Team

Marksmanship Team

This JROTC team uses CO2 and Air rifles to compete in the 10 meter 3 position international Air Rifle course. They compete at different school matches, and even Nationally through the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Members of this team can earn the Tan Shoulder Cord, and Marksmanship Arc. They also have the opportunity to earn qualification badges for Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Expert to wear on their cadet uniform.

Raider Team

Raider Team

Consists of 8 cadet team and promotes esprit de corps, teamwork, and self-confidence. It provides JROTC cadets a competitive program in five mentally and physically challenging training events. The competition includes events such as the Physical Fitness test, construction of a one rope bridge, 5-kilometer road march, a litter carry and one optional event. The optional events are shuttle run, logistics relay, vehicle pull, and knot tying relay. Cadets on the Raider Team may the right to wear the Black shoulder cord and may earn the Raider Arc. They may also be able to earn the Adventure Training ribbon.

Drill Team

Drill Team

The armed drill team is a team for drill marching, which use the M1903 Dummy Rifles. They compete with other schools, and perform exhibitions in support of school activities. They also participate in the Battle of Flowers and Cinco De Mayo parades. Team members can earn the right to wear the Red Shoulder Cord and the Drill Team Arc.

Un-Armed Drill Team competes in marching and a highly synchronized hand and arm movements. To be on this team you need to be very disciplined and motivated. They go to various competitions throughout the city, and perform exhibitions in support of school activities. They also participate in the Battle of Flowers and Cinco De Mayo parades. Team members can earn the right to wear the Red Shoulder Cord and the Drill Team Arc.

Color Guard Team

Color Guard Team

The Color Guard is our most active team. They carry the colors (the US Flag, and the Texas State Flag) for all home football games, and various formal events throughout San Antonio. The Color Guard also competes at Drill Meets and at Spurs and Rampage Games. Members of the Color Guard wear the White Shoulder Cord, and earn the Color Guard Arc.
